In March of 2016 I put an offer on Emanon V, a 1990 Sea Ray 440 Aft Cabin Motor Yacht. I had been looking at boat since I first saw it in 2001. After several days of negotiation the seller accepted my offer.
Many of my friends thought (or knew) I was crazy. The boat had been sitting on the hard shrink wrapped for five years. When I told the marina, on April 4th, that I wanted the boat in the water by May 1st, they said there was no way that it would happen.
With the help of many friends, the marina, and a few vendors, My goal was accomplished. From stripping the shrinkwrap off on April 4th, to splashing the boat on April 25th was a ambitious goal. I am not sure how I did it, but I beat my goal by a week.
My main reason for the May 1st deadline was because as soon as I reached an agreement with the seller, I told my landlord, that I would be moving out on May 1st.
On May 7th 2016, with the blessing of Poseidon, Emanon V was officially renamed Nothing To Plunder.
With the exception for a haul out for a short maintenance period, I have lived on it since she went back in the water. I have spent countless hours, upgrading it and maintaining it.
On May 28, 2021 the second half of my dream came true. We left our home port of Bordentown NJ for our Great Loop Adventure. The trip is a 6000 mile boat journey around the eastern 1/3 us the United States. You can follow our adventure at www.offexploring.com/spj8864
